When you import media to My Library, what you are doing is creating a media clip that remembers the location of the media file or Web link, as well as information about the media content. (See Clip Info for details.) As you organize these clips, the media files are not moved, you are only moving the clip shortcuts. Likewise, when you delete a media clip from My Library, you only delete the clip and the clip info; the associated media file or link is not affected.
By default, RealOne Player will organize saved clips in the following Media Groups:
Audio |
Video |

Note: |
The Artist, Album, and Genre information that is used by the RealOne Player to display the clips can be modified, along with most of the rest of the Clip Info for each clip. See Clip Info for details. |
Because clips are only pointers to the media file, you can have multiple clips pointing to the same media file. So you can make multiple copies of clips; and in the process you can rename them, change their categories (such as Genre, or Artist, or Album), and move then wherever you wish among the the default Media Groups. (For details on moving clips see Clip Organizer.)
Playlists are nothing more than lists of clips to be played. By creating Playlists, you can create virtual albums. There are three basic ways to create Playlists:
There are several tools in My Library that you can use to sort, search, and display your clips.
While the clips are saved and organized on your computer, the media files they point to may be local, on a LAN, or on the Internet. When you play a clip, you are instructing the RealOne Player to play the media file that the clip points to. Therefore, playback will be limited by file availability and/or Internet connection.
