The CD Info feature retrieves, stores and displays information about the CDs listen to or create with RealOne Player.
Audio CDs contain only the digital information you need to listen to the recorded music: just track number and track length. They do not include the CD title, the name of the artist, the musical genre , track titles, or other information about the CD content.
RealOne Player automatically attempts to recognize and retrieve this CD information from a music information database stored on your computer and on the World Wide Web. If you're not connected to the Internet, only information previously retrieved from the internet and stored on your local hard drive is available. However, RealOne Player stores CD Info requests for each CD that you save to My Library while you are offline and retrieves the information the next time you log on.
In addition, RealOne Player stores CD info for any custom CDs you create, and display the information whenever you play the custom CD from your RealOne Player.
Step-by-Step:
Turn On/Off automatic CD Info retrieval
Sometimes the CD Info search does not find an exact match for your CD. In this event, you'll see a window asking you to choose between one or more near-matches. Click the CD title that matches your CD, then click OK.
If you have previously received CD Info for a CD, or manually entered the CD Info, RealOne Player will remember the information in a database on your computer. If you later view the same CD with the RealOne Player, it will display the CD info, even if you are working offline. If you have played or recorded a CD in the past, and have not requested CD Info, RealOne Player will keep track of this and prompt you to get the CD Info.
