Preferences: CD

CD Preferences control how and when CD tracks are recorded and whether or not track information is gathered for you automatically from the Internet when an audio CD is inserted in the active CD drive.

When Inserting a CD

Start Playback: (Default is On) RealOne Player will automatically begin playback whenever you insert a CD into your CD-ROM drive.

Note: Your setting for Auto Insert Notification in Windows will override this preference.

Prompt to Save CD: (Default is Off) The first time you insert a CD, RealOne Player will prompt you to save the audio tracks into your media collection. You will not see the prompt again for the same album.

Additional CD Options

Get CD Info: (Default is On) Get CD Info from the Internet when a new CD is inserted. (You must be online.)

Automatically start CD playback: (Default is On) Play CD tracks while saving them from a CD.

When done saving, eject the CD : (Default is Off) Eject CD from drive when finished saving tracks.

When done saving, play a sound: (Default is On) Play a *.wav file to indicate that the Player has finished saving tracks.

Pick a Sound: Browse your computer's folders to select a suitable *.wav file to play when the RealOne Player is done saving tracks. (Available only if Play a Sound, shown above is selected.)

Select a Format

(Default is RealAudio 8 with ATRAC3) Choose which music file format RealOne Player will use when saving CD tracks to your media library. Files will be saved in the folder you define in the File Locations section of your General Preferences.

Select a Quality Level

(Default is 132 Kbps Stereo) Select a Quality Level (bit-rate) to use when saving tracks. Keep in mind that increasing quality level also increases the size of the files you save.

CDs

Offers an estimate of how many CDs at each quality level could be recorded to the default save location (initially set in General Preferences) based on the current disk space available.

Quality Level

Shows relative quality versus a CD.

Disk Space

Refers to the total disk space needed to save a typical audio CD. (For comparison purposes only.)

Note: Constant bit-rate and Variable bit-rate options are only available for MP3 formatted files. (See Recording Formats and Quality for more details)
