Content Preferences

Content Preferences affect how content is displayed and when it is updated.

Description

Language
(Default is Language initially installed) By default, RealPlayer will display any text components in the language of the version you installed.
If you prefer another language be displayed in content that provides more than one language, specify your preference here from the drop-down list.

Channels
(Default for all is On) Enable or disable the automatic updating of your Headline. Also enable or disable the automatic scrolling of Headlines in you’re My Channels tab.
Headlines will only be updated while you are connected to the Internet. RealPlayer will not attempt to establish a dial-up connection solely for the purpose of updating your headlines even if you have automatic updating enabled.

Real.com News and Entertainment Flashes
This free service allows RealPlayer to keep you informed about the latest live broadcasts, news and information.
The list displays Flashes to which you currently subscribe. If you do not subscribe to any Flashes the list will be blank. Also, control the rate of glimmer on the RealPlayer Icon in your system tray by changing the Alert Level.
To subscribe to or change the Flashes you would like to receive use Personalize Real.com Product Flashes from the Help menu.

Web browser
(Default is On) Some clips contain synchronized multimedia events that display Web pages or images in your browser while you are playing a clip. This setting controls whether RealPlayer applications enables these events.
If you have more than one Web browser installed, you can select a default browser for you Player to interact with.

Accessibility
(Default is Off) Content providers can use RealPlayer’s abilities to offer accessibility features. Click Settings... to turn on specific options.
Select Use accessibility features when available to activiate either the Show captions or Display descriptive audio track options. When selected, RealPlayer Plus will either display closed captioning or use a descriptive audio track. If the clip has been authored without captioning or a descriptive track, this setting will have no effect.
