Why am I unable to Save Tracks or see only "Data Track" on the CD page?

Symptom

When you insert an audio CD into a computer with multiple DVD or CD drives, the CD page of RealOne Player reads "Data Track 01" or claims there is no audio CD inserted.

Explanation

While many computers have multiple CD or DVD players in them, usually only one of these is connected directly to your computer's sound card. RealOne Player can only Save Tracks from the device that is connected directly to the sound card, though you can play music from any CD or DVD device (see below).

Solution

In the upper right of the CD page there is ability to select any of your CD or DVD drives. Insert your audio CD into your other drives until you find the drive that works. If the CD page doesn't automatically recognize the CD and select different drive letters from the drop-down list available until a combination is successful. One reason that this may get confusing is that your computer may be set to assign specific drive letters rather than automatically assigning them on start up.

To play CDs from your other CD or DVD devices (those not attached directly to the sound card) view the CD in Windows Explorer and double click the tracks or drag them to RealOne Player.
