Adding Clips to a Device

When you use this procedure to add clips from My Library to a portable player or storage device, your are transferring a copy of the media file associated with the clip. If the media file is not available on a local drive, the clip can not be transferred.

Step-by-Step: Download Files to a Portable Device

  1. Click to open the Media Browser.

  2. Click to open the Devices page.

  3. Double-click the name of the device to which you wish to transfer files. If you are transferring to a portable MP3 player with external and internal memory, their status is displayed.

  4. Select the destination (when available, such as drive, folder, internal or external memory, etc.) for your files.

  5. Click Add Clips in the Command bar. The Add Clips dialog appears.

  6. Select the clips to be transferred to your portable device. Then click Add Clip to queue up the files to be transferred to your device and close the Add Clips dialog.

  7. Click Transfer in the Command bar to copy your selected clips to your portable device. (Clips labeled "Will Not Fit" will not be transferred.)

Note:

Only audio files supported by a Portable Music Players can be transferred. An error message will be displayed if you try to add an unsupported media file to a Portable Music Player.
