Connection Preferences determine the assumptions RealOne Player makes about your connection to the Internet. If set properly at installation, the defaults are usually sufficient. Changing these settings should only be done with care or when instructed to do so by your System Administrator or by a Technical Support specialist.

TurboPlay |
Enable TurboPlay (Default is On for connection speeds >56Kbps) TurboPlay attempts to offer fastest possible playback from links over a broadband connection by beginning playback as soon as RealOne Player is able rather than waiting until the minimum buffering setting is met. Click Enable TurboPlay to enable or disable this feature. Note: Correct Bandwidth settings are critical for this feature to operate smoothly. | ||||

Online Status |
Select Automatically detect... or Assume I am online. Many of RealOne Player's services require access to the Internet. RealOne Player can determine when you are using a dial-up modem to access the Internet and can automatically connect when necessary. If you are using a network connection or have a cable modem or DSL connection, you can let the RealOne Player assume you are online all the time. Tip: If you have both a modem and a network connection to the Internet (as many laptops do), and you are using the network connection, select "Assume I am online" to simplify online status detection. |
