Preferences: Content

Use Content preferences to change your language preferences, accessibility options, and to help RealOne Player perform more efficiently for frequently played content.

OPTION

DESCRIPTION

Clip Settings

To speed up playback of frequently used content, you can allow RealOne Player to cache it, much like a Web browser temporarily saves images and content. Not all content is able to be cached. The author of the presentation must set this ability.

Enable caching

(Default is On) Instructs RealOne Player to cache media files.

Clip cache size

(Default is 4MB) Move the slider to adjust the size. The size is limited only by available hard drive space.

Empty Clip Cache

Clears the content from the Clip Cache but does not delete the cache file. The size you set above will still be reserved on your hard drive. To delete the file entirely, you must disable caching.

Note: The Clip Cache is also emptied whenever you reboot your machine.

Language

Content providers can create content with audio and text available in multiple languages.

Content Language

(Default is installed language of RealOne Player) If you prefer a different language be displayed when available, select your preference here from the drop-down list.

Show subtitles

(Default is Off) Some content has subtitles available in different languages. This option is mutually exclusive with "Play overdub track" below.

Play overdub track

(Default is Off) Provides, when available, audio substitution in the "Content  Language" set above. This option is mutually exclusive with "Show sub-titles" above.

Accessibility

Content providers can author content to use RealOne Player’s accessibility features. If a clip has been authored without captioning or a descriptive track, these settings will have no effect.

Use supplemental text captioning...

(Default is Off) Displays captions when provided.

Use descriptive audio...

(Default is Off) Plays descriptive audio track to supplement graphic presentation when provided.
